Your journals stay between you and the people you invite

Sitter's Log is a private, photo-rich journal for pet and house sitters. Here's a plain-language look at how we handle your account and the moments you record.

This is placeholder content written in plain language and is pending review by a legal professional. It describes our intentions today but is not yet a binding legal document.

Private by default

Every journal you create in Sitter's Log is private. Only you and the people you personally invite — usually the owners of the pet or home you're caring for, plus a small handful of followers — can open and read it.

We do not run a public feed, a discovery page, or a directory of sitters. There is no way for a stranger to browse or stumble onto your logs.

Not indexed by search engines

Journal pages live behind a sign-in wall. They are not crawlable, so they will not appear in Google, Bing, or any other search engine results.

Invite links are private and unlisted. Sharing one only grants access to the specific journal it points to, and you can stop sharing at any time.

Your account & email

When you sign in we store the basics needed to run your account — your name and email address — so we can keep your journals attached to you and let invited readers know who is writing.

We use your email to send account and invite-related messages. We do not sell your details or share them with advertisers.

Your journal content

The words and photos you add to a log are stored so we can show them back to you and to the readers you've invited. They belong to you.

We only access your content where it's genuinely needed to operate the service — for example, to display it, back it up, or help you when you ask for support.

Keeping control & deleting data

You can edit or delete individual entries at any time. Removing a journal removes it for the readers you invited, too.

If you'd like your account and its journals fully removed, get in touch and we'll take care of it.
